Who doesn’t want to be a mermaid? I could not help myself from picking up a wildly whimsical bottle of Paris Hilton’s Siren perfume. Before everyone shakes their head, faintly remembering the blonde heiress’s days on “The Simple Life” with Nicole Ritchie, she is a business woman who knows how to make fun perfume…without the hefty socialite price tag.
The box is covered with an image of Paris
lounging in a golden-bronze mermaid tail, with her long blonde locks
strategically placed. The
cover lifts off to reveal an artsy image of a mermaid.
Inside is a delicate,
frosted glass bottle shaped slightly like a mermaid’s tail. The neck is adorned with a small golden mermaid charm, a treasure from the bottom of the sea.
The fragrance is light, warm and sweet. According to fragrantica.com, Siren casts its spell of apricot, honeysuckle, vanilla and peach. The fragrance is muted and not too sweet, but very pleasant and warm, like a gorgeous sunny day out on the glittering blue ocean.
Fragrantica notes that some consumers were reminded of Viva La Juicy from Juicy Coture, which I have heard once from wearing Siren.
Make sure to pick up at a Ross store, you can find it for only $10!
I started my guilty pleasure
of picking up Paris Hilton perfumes back in October,
near Halloween time when I passed by a stand of deeply
discounted perfume bottles, and saw Tease. The name says it all, and the box has a black and white picture of Hilton, photographed like Marilyn Monroe with a platinum bob and coquettish smile.
The bottle is more modern looking than Siren, a lovely royal purple shade shaped into a square bottle. The
scent is sweet but heavier.
Top notes, according to fragrantica are bergamont, peach and
red apple, a perfectly fun and juicy combination for the fall. Tease is very wearable, with a musk, fresh water and flowery scent as well.
After finding Siren in stores, I wanted to try out more perfumes (for $10 it is becoming another addiction.) I have seen bottles of Can Can at department stores and wanted to try the cotton-candy like fragrance.
I was a little disappointed that the bottle was much smaller than Siren, but $11 at a Ross store. It’s still a good deal. The fragrance is a very warm cotton candy that feels like a sexy, tempting fragrance .
I love everything pink, sweet
and cotton-candy and this fragrance feels like a biting version of cute-cotton candy. It is a little harder to wear, but fun to spritz.
Fragrantica lists black currant, nectarine and clementine as the top notes, with noticeable musk and amber as base notes.
So give them a try, you might be surprised! Fee like a heiress without having to pay the price tag.
